interview ethics

In this interview the interviewer clearly lets his personal opinions come out and gets threatened by his interviewee.

Is this ethical or should he of stayed objective?

  1. I'd say he should have pushed harder, quite a lot harder - assuming this isn't some sort of Beyond the Fringe comedy. If you are dealing with a psychopath - which this fellow seems to be, either really or affecting to be - you don't learn anything about what lies beneath without engaging the guy on his own terms. At least, that's one of the approaches I would countenance.
